Father’s Day is coming up, and there is no better time to reflect on the role of a father in his children’s life. Fatherhood has changed dramatically in the past few decades, with Dads spending much more time with their kids. I see it all around me and find it very inspiring.

My son's father and I have been divorced for 9 years now. Throughout those years, we have always shared custody of our child and I have seen him rise to the challenge of caring for him in amazing ways. They have developed a close relationship which is heartwarming and wonderful to witness. My son will be a better man because of it, and I am thankful for that.

Empathy. My 3 children are so active and busy with activities and school and sometimes they don't recognize when they are too frustrated and frazzled. My husband is so good at recognizing their emotional states and helping them work through them. It is a great Dad talent to be able to help the kids emotionally.

I grew up having little contact with my father. My husband has been the role model in my life for a father and he does an amazing job. His best quality is being able to love unconditionally and with so much of his heart that our girls never doubt that he cares for them, that he's there for them always, that he'll protect them and support them in any way that they need.
