May is always a nice month in Canada. Trees and bulbs are blooming, while we shed extra layers of clothing and dream of the summer ahead. And of course, May is the time to celebrate Mom in a special way with Mother’s Day!

We all know Moms are special. Personally, I never realized just how special my Mom was until I became a Mom myself. Being a mom of a 7 month old and a 6 year old is very rewarding but also has it's moments.....I swear my son has been teething since the day he was born , and still not one tooth! My daughter has more attitude and swagger some days than most 17 and 18 year olds these days, and I can't remember the last time I actually had the bathroom to myself or a meal that was not interrupted by a potty break, diaper change, bottle feed, change of menu part way through due to the newest item added to the growing list of things my daughter is adding to the things she refuses to eat......My wish for Mothers day - a shower and a hot meal uninterrupted, that's it...nothing fancy, nothing fancy....

My **MOM** is very special to me, we are VERY close :) She has always been so amazing to me, done so many wonderful things to make me just wonder how much better of a mom one could possibly have. My mom is also VERY close with her mom and for us as well as my siblings it is SOOO HARD to deal with and watch my mom as well as my Grandma struggle now as she is 90 and been diagnosed with Dementia. We have the BEST MOM - she lost her Mom when she was only 7 years old and helped raise her brothers and sisters. She quit work to be a STAY AT HOME MOM and we appreciated her always being there for us. It is PAYBACK TIME - she is in her eighties and it is time for us to show her how much we appreciate everything she gave up for us. Mother's Day is only one day we must do things everyday to show we really care

My MOM? Well we might not have gotten along well when I was a teenager, but now that I have triplets of my own she is always there to help, to answer questions or to just let me complain. I'm not sure I'd be completely sane without her! :) *sorry I think I sent 1st one without a message lol

My mom is the best! Even though she works full time she babysits for me every evening in the summer so I can work, and she will take time off work exam week so I can finish my university degree. On top of being a mom to four children of her own. She is always there

My mom passed away 2 yrs ago, but what I loved about her was her unconditional love and acceptance of me (and I was a tad difficult at times) lol She had the best smile, gave the best hugs and had the most glorious laugh. thanks nancyrobster at gmail dot com

I think I can say with all honesty that my mom taught me everything right! I'm a new mother now of two wonderful children and like most moms out there I have developed a huge respect for all the things my mom ever did for me.mi find myself sounding like her more and more everyday and I hope that I can be half the mom that she was and is for me!

What I love about my Mom: She packed my lunches, ironed my clothes, and told me when to blow my nose, She drove to swim meets, made me hit the books, and put up with all my dirty looks, She took me to concerts, and travelled and such, she truly did so very much, She got me braces, gave me the best birthday parties, and filled my life with a rainbow of smarties, She fretted when I stayed out late, and I only now realize it's cause she wanted me to turn out GREAT!

Although my Mom and I live 800 miles away from each other, she always makes the effort to call me especially if I am sick. She will call daily when I am sick to make sure that I am okay. I truly appreciate the love that I can feel over the wire.

My mom has a heart of gold, she raised 4 kids, now all grown up. She was orphaned as a child, she was bounced around strangers and family growing up. But this lady is tough and after all that has put her self through nursing school and has cared for the ill in the hospital on various wards. She is retired of 10 years, is now caring for her Alzheimer husband, friend and boyfriend of 58 years, she still sounds optimistic and hopeful everytime I call her, every second day, as I want her to lean on me now, it is her time. She lives in Alberta, I am in BC. This lady would love this gift, it would put a smile on her face. Thank you

My mum passed away in 2003, but what I love/loved about my mum was her devotion to her children, and yet, her nurturing in allowing us to grow up and be who we wanted to be. Always with her encouragement and love and watching eyes, she watched us fall off our bikes, take our first trip, watch our first date, hold us when we cried. It was important to her that we grew up as independent, caring people and that we were honest, just, non-judgemental, and fair adults. I believe she accomplished that with her quiet way, her gentleness. She is around me everyday....and that is what I love about my mum.
