About: CGHart Design & Marketing
|
Carmen Gerrard founded CGHART Design and Marketing in 1986, although her future as an entrepreneur was evident at a young age. At the age of 13, Carmen began selling her crafts to West Vancouver retailers. Carmen's first product marketed under the name of CGHART was inspired by her first daughter, who as a toddler, had difficulty holding a wet bar of soap at bath-time. This gave birth to the Soap Buddy, originally designed in terry cloth, which is now the Soap Friction, an exfoliating mesh pouch. Later, in 1989, upon entering elementary school, Carmen's daughters would require a gym strip bag and she seized the opportunity to create another innovative product. Carmen designed a simple cotton gym bag, with an exterior mesh pocket to keep her daughter' sweaty running shoes separate from their gym clothes. The Gym Bag was Carmen's first mass-produced product and the bulk purchase of mesh fabric for these pockets spawned an entire line of original poly-mesh products. This line is comprised of a wide variety of Canadian-made products, many of which are sold through the marine industry, including the #1 - selling Multi-Sac. In an environmentally - conscious society with many reusable bags on the market, the Multi-Sac is leaps and bounds above all others due to its unbeatable durability, infinite uses and its security-friendly design. With the love and support of her family, Carmen, a single mom, has accomplished many goals including building and managing her company and raising two successful, ambitious young women all while working a full-time job and striving to overcome a permanent injury sustained in a car accident in 2003. |
