Pearl & Daisy Natural Soap Company arose out of an inspiration that came one summer afternoon while walking along a wooded trail in the Cobequid mountains. The air was filled with fragrant bayberry, fir, and moss and we dreamed about preserving the glorious scent for a winter's day. We set to work blending essential oils and crafting an artisan soap that came to be known as Mountain Mist. This was the first of eight aromatherapy collections inspired by the beauty and history of the east coast. Our popular Gift From the Sea soon followed, made with kelp and sea buckthorn berry oil, and a blend of rosemary and peppermint essential oils.

In addition to soap made using a traditional hand-stirred open kettle process, Pearl & Daisy also offers bath salts, solid lotion body balm, and skin care. The Fresh Complexion facial masks are made with hand-picked native plants like blackberry leaf and elder flowers, which offer traditional skin care benefits. While the artisan-made products are a nod to a simpler time, specialty ingredients and beautiful packaging elevate the products to a luxury brand that is favoured by upscale boutiques across North America.

The original Pearl and Daisy were two sisters who lived in the Cobequid mountains of Nova Scotia in the early 1900s, when people made their own soap and skin care using traditional techniques. We live and work in the very same hills, with a breathtaking view of the Bay of Fundy. We like to think about Pearl and Daisy when we gather wild rose hips and petals, as they might have done a hundred years ago.
