Arla Foods has been established in Canada since 1961.

Arla Foods Inc. is a major supplier of specialty cheese, sourced from our parent production facilities in Europe, as well as from owned and licensed Canadian production facilities.

ARLA FOODS Canada Milestones:

1961: Subsidiary established under the name of DOFO.

1987: First Danish Havarti Recipe production in Canada.

1988: DOFO joins MD Foods, and subsidiary changes name to MD Foods Inc.

1992: First Danish Feta Recipe production in Canada.

2000: Merger between Arla in Sweden and MD Foods in Denmark.

2004: Arla Foods Inc. acquires National Cheese Company Ltd. The company name in Canada is Arla Foods Inc.

2006: First production of Danish style Blue Cheese outside Denmark.
