His first volume of a classic Gordon Lightfoot collection captures the golden moments of his career. Gord's Gold starts with early Gord, “I'm not Sayin'/Ribbon of Darkness.” The album then takes the listener through a great Canadian historical chapter as narrated but the rough'n'tough ol' Gord: “Canadian Railroad Trilogy.”

Further on, you get wonderful ballads like the mournful “Early Morning Rain” and the slick “Sundown,” which will always have Gord's mark on it, no matter what guy – Elwood – lays his hands on it. Closing on “Carefree Highway,” Gord makes you think of the long, open Trans-Canada Highway.

    I got this album one day because I was going through a crazy-nostalgia phase. I remember hearing "If you could read my mind" and "Did
    she mention my name" on 92.5 CFQR (an easy-listening radio station in Montreal that changed to Q92 in the 90's) when I was like 8-9 years old. My
    mom who was a stay at home mom always had the radio on tuned to this station and Gordon Lightfoot always played.
