A revolutionary album that formed the blueprint for 1970’s folk rock, Neil Young’s Harvest burst onto the scene in 1972. Given the incredible influence of that recording, it’s only fitting that Harvest Moon, Young’s 1992 pseudo-sequel, takes on a reminiscent tone. The work of a rock and roll road warrior with 25 years worth of mileage under his belt, this album features some of the most intimate songs in Young’s vast catalogue.

Songs like the title track are laced with a wide-eyed romanticism that belies the fact that Young was nearly 50 when this album was recorded. A testament to the maturing vision of an extremely influential artist, Harvest Moon is the perfect accompaniment for an old-fashioned slow dance with the one you love.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Neil Percival Young, born in Toronto, Ontario is a Canadian singer-songwriter, musician and film director. Although he accompanies himself on several different instruments, including piano and harmonica, his style of claw-hammer acoustic guitar and often idiosyncratic soloing on electric guitar are the linchpins of a sometimes ragged, sometimes polished sound.

Although Young has experimented widely with differing music styles, including swing, jazz, rockabilly, blues, and electronic music throughout a varied career, his best known work usually falls into either of two distinct styles: folk-esque acoustic rock.

FROM THE CRITICS
Harvest Moon is all strummed acoustic chords, scenic choral overdubs, melodies cruising smooth as an air-conditioned limo on a two-lane blacktop. Underneath the tranquility and cosmic platitudes, there's a human highway." --- Entertainment Weekly

Though essentially a warm, emotional album, it doesn't flinch from a realization that innocent idealism is no longer a viable commodity on mankind's futures market...HARVEST MOON may be the best work he's ever done." --- Audio

I love this album. I remember when it first came out, I was working at HMV. There's something about Neil Young eh? What a national treasure. Today my
dad plays Harvest Moon on the guitar and sings it.
