Wagner Orchards and Estate Winery began with the first planting of apple trees in 1986. Beginning as a small "pick-your-own" farm, it has expanded to become a family agricultural destination. The proprietors of Wagner Orchards are Harold and Janice Wagner. Harold is a 1981 graduate of the University of Guelph with a degree in agriculture and Janice is a veterinarian (OVC 1984) and owner of the Essex Animal Clinic. Harold and Janice, along with their children, Matt, Melissa and Katrina and Harold's parents, Hanna and Alfred operate the farm.

Wagner Orchards continuously seeks to improve food quality through sound environmental practices. We raise our own beef, pork and poultry free of hormones, chemicals and antibiotics. Our fruit trees have the minimal amount of chemicals needed to produce a high quality fruit. Where possible we use natural pest control rather than insecticide. Our food is grown in the healthiest possible way.

We have expanded to include a farm bakery, producing fresh, homemade pies, strudels and desserts. We are a registered estate winery and produce unique high quality fruit and grape wines and ciders. In December, we sell Christmas trees and Christmas hams and treats.

In the fall of 2005 we completed an event room for small parties, receptions and other gatherings featuring our home grown food and wine.
